Thoughtful software starts with a foundation you know.Vision. Apple Vision detects faces and landmarks before recognition begins.
Vision is an independent app. Face matching runs locally using Apple Vision and Core ML; it is not Apple Face ID.
Vision uses your Mac’s camera, Apple Vision, and a Core ML face-recognition model to match your face against an enrolled profile. After you authorize a session, a successful match lets Vision enter your encrypted, saved Mac password at the lock screen. It is a convenience layer, not Apple Face ID.
